Teaching style: Gently dynamic, creative, present
First touch with yoga: When I was in high school in the club room of the neighboring house. Strangely enough, the task immediately felt like my own!
Book that changed my life: Yoga and the Power of Life by Donna Farhi
Aura describes her teaching as gentle, holistic and respectful of everyone’s own boundaries. Throughout her life, she has always prioritized the basic pillars of well-being, and yoga has played a vital role in this. Aura, who also trained as a musician, lived for several years in the United States, Canada, and also traveled to many different countries. Yoga helped her find a physical grounding wherever she was, providing a concreteness to accompany the music.
Aura is fascinated by the contrasts in life – planning and playing, movement and rest, light and dark. She strives to face herself and others as they are, encouraging students to seek the balance between the present moment of now, and energizing movement.
Currently studying to be an occupational therapist, Aura has graduated from the RYT-200 yoga teacher training, and continues to deepen her knowledge of anatomy and body awareness. Her future dream is to combine her creative skills with therapeutic yoga. Even now, music plays an important role in her teaching, and creativity flows through all her work.
Aura teaches in Finnish and in English.
