Yoga
Yoga has many scientifically proven benefits. Various yoga exercises improve the ability to concentrate and become aware of the functioning of your mind, as well as increase your ability to relax. Yoga helps the body recover and, when practiced regularly, also calms the over-alert nervous system and improves sleep quality – which surely everyone knows has a huge impact on overall well-being. Various physical exercises in yoga increase strength, balance and mobility. Yoga strengthens your deep muscles in particular, and with gentle movement brings a great counter-effect to a sedentary lifestyle. Different breathing exercises massage the body from the inside and create space to breathe.
Classes can always be booked for the current day and for the next 6 days. A new day opens for booking every midnight.
If you are a beginner, we recommend starting at our beginners classes. You can start yoga and participate in our classes at any time of the year. Suitable classes for beginners include calmer yoga classes such as hatha, lempeä aamu, lempeä ilta and joogaa aloittelijoille (in Finnish).
During these lessons, you will get in touch with yoga practice through soothing physical exercise. As a beginner, you can also try calming yin yoga, which has no separate starting levels.
In principle, we always recommend pregnancy yoga during pregnancy, which we offer at all of our studios on a weekly basis. However, if you already have a yoga background, you can join our weekly classes as you please. In this case we recommend gentle and calm classes. You can also attend yin classes, but take special care as during and after pregnancy the body’s supporting tissues are naturally more loose.
For the post natal phase we have postpartum-yoga and courses.
No special preparation for the lessons is required. However, we recommend drinking enough water and eating well in advance of the start of the class. Drink and eat about 1-2 hours before your arrival to the class.
Wear comfortable clothes and a yoga mat to the studio, if you own one. We also have mats in the studios, if needed. Remember to clean borrowed mats before returning them. You find the cleaning equipments at our studios. Yoga is done barefoot, but also bring warm clothes for final relaxation and gentle exercises. As the nervous system calms down, the body also calms down and cools down.
If you have received a spot to the class from the waiting list, you will receive information about this by e-mail. Please note that you must have approved email notifications (account management) to receive these. You will find the management from your own account details at our website.
You will receive information about the spot within the cancellation times, i.e. no later than 12 hours before the start of the morning class or 6 hours before the start of the evening class. Unfortunately, it is not possible to send text messages about free spots.
We do hope you arrive on time. The reception always opens 15 minutes before the class. 5 minutes before the class starts your spot might be given to someone who has been at the waiting list if you have not arrived. Unfortunately, we can’t let people in after the class has started and doors have been closed, since we must give peace to those in class.
After the free cancellation window closes, you can still make a Late cancel, which will free up space for someone else. Your payment does not return to your account.
If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it. If you enter your password incorrectly more than once, your account will be locked for 5 minutes. If the login problem persists, please contact info@rootshki.fi.
Gift cards can be purchased through our online store. Gift cards can be purchased for an open amount so receiver can use it to buy anything at our webshop. Notice that gift cards are valid for 12 months. If for example 5xyoga -card is received with the gift card, expiration time will change due to the purchase and that 12 months validation time is no longer valid (making the first reservation for the yoga class will set the final expiration date for the purchased 5xcard).
We welcome everyone who has reached the age 16.
Yoga classes
You can register for the class through our website. You must pay for the class in advance on our webpage with your existing yoga card or by redeeming a one-time visit , a bundle card, or a monthly card.
You can cancel your registration by logging in to our website. Please note that cancellations must be made in time for you to do so free of charge. For late cancels and no shows the payment will not be returned. You can cancel your registration free of charge 12 hours before the start of the morning classes and 6 hours before the start of the evening classes. Morning classes are classes that begin before noon and evening classes are classes that begin at or after noon each day.
Cancelled tickets will stay at your account for another bookings.
The ticket is not returned to your account in cases where the reservation was not cancelled in time or no one showed up for the class. For the monthly cards we reduce one day for every no show/late cancel.
We hope you arrive 15-5 minutes before the class starts. Teacher starts taking yogis in 15 minutes before the class.
We do not accept anyone to enter after the class has started.Â

Vallila’s yoga classes can be combined with breakfast during the café’s opening hours. Our café is not open on Sundays and there is no café in other studios. We recommend reserving a table in advance.
Online live classes
You do not need to register for the online class. You can get access to our online-classes and practices in the video bank by redeeming an online 1-day pass, 1-week pass, 1-year pass or an online monthly subscription. After logging in you find Roots online in the upper right corner of the landing site and behind that you have access to our online-classes and video bank. From there you can also find the weekly schedule. Online-classes are available to watch for one week after the streaming.
Depending on the yoga class, you can participate with almost no equipment. If you have a mat at home, awesome, but you can also use a normal carpet. For dynamic classes, we recommend a yoga mat which allows a proper grip for your hands and feet. You can replace a yoga block with books or even a coffee package. Any belt or scarf works as a yoga belt, and pillows can be used as a bolster.
You can not use normal yoga card for online-classes. You need to buy one day online-pass for an online-class.
No you do not need. It works only to one direction: teacher can not see or hear you, but you can see & hear them.
When live streaming there is a small risk that something might not go as planned. If the connection is lost we will try to get back as soon as possible.
If life surprises and you don’t get to join the class as planned, you can watch the recording afterwards. Recordings are available for one week after the class. You can also hop in to the class when it has already started, you just rewind the video to the beginning.
There are options that can be bought with sports pass (ePassi, Smartum, Edenred) and those are 1 day, 1 week and 1 year access. Those are not recurring subscriptions. The option that needs payment card information is subscription for 1 month. That is paid monthly and can be cancelled anytime and the access is until the previous day of the next payment date. New payments will not be charged.
The cancellation is made in your account management.
Video studio
You get an access to the practices in the video library at ROOTS online when you have bought any online-access.
Video library belongs to the same ROOTS online -site where you have access also to an online-classes. There are one-time payment options for 1 day 7,50€, 1 week 14,50€ , 1 year 198€ and also monthly subscription for 16,50€/month.
One-time payment options for 1 day 7,50€, 1 week 14,50€ , 1 year 198€ can be bought with credit/debit card or sports pass as ePassi, Smartum and Edenred. Monthly subscription for 16,50€/month needs to be paid with payment card credit/debit.

We do not refund unused time. We trust our members to keep track of their subscriptions and to adhere to the terms and conditions agreed to upon registration.

The video library currently has over 200 videos, as well as 10 yoga adventures for kids and a course for beginners. We add new classes to the video library every month.

Yes this is possible. You can use Smartum, Edenred and ePassi in our online store. If you have any problems with the payment, please contact us through email info@rootshki.fi
That is possible. Make the payment in the (sports benefit) application and send a picture of the receipt to info@rootshki.fi. Write down what you want to buy and add your mobile phone number so we can send a payment link for the remaining payment.Â

No worries, this can sometimes happen. You can extend your card through form below. Prices are: 2 weeks 5€, 1 month 10€ and 2 months 20€. We send payment link via text message and extend the card after we get the confirmation of the payment. If your card is already expired continuation starts from the payment date.
If the booking has not been canceled within the cancellation time, we will charge that visit from the yoga card. If you have a monthly card we will shorten it by one day.
Please only book the classes you plan to attend. Of course, sometimes plans change. We hope that you will always cancel your booking in time if you are prevented from coming. In this way, we respect both the yogis and the work of our teachers.

You don’t need to commit to a continued membership. You can always buy 1 day or 1 week one-time payment accesses. Yoga comes and goes in life. However, regular moments on the mat are valuable and a small investment in your own well-being carries far.

The card is always personal and under one user account. However, you can book two spots for the class and pay for another’s class this way.
