Brooke
I won’t let go of: daydreaming
I get inspired by: walking in the Finnish forest
Teaching style: welcoming, motivating, relaxed
First touch with yoga: I was 15 years old and my drama teacher included yoga practice in our rehearsals for the production of “Bye Bye Birdie”. I will never forget the symphony of teenagers snoring together – it was amazing to experience a group of people moving into a vulnerable place of complete relaxation.
A book that changed my life: most recently I’m excited about Rest is Resistance by Tricia Hersey
Brooke started a regular yoga practice in her early 20’s. She was in search of something to help reduce the work-related stress and anxiety she was experiencing as a young professional in a new city, which led her to the breathwork and movement meditation aspects of asana.
In 2016, she enrolled in a Tantrik Yoga Teacher Training Program at the Mahadevi Ashram in Guatemala with the intention to deepen her personal practice. Soon after the training, Brooke started teaching professionally while continuing to work her corporate job.
In 2022, Brooke moved from the USA to Finland with her Finnish spouse. This move gave her the opportunity to focus on a new career teaching yoga full time.
Her approach to yoga remains ever focused on the balance between strength and flexibility, effort and ease. You can expect clear instructions on how to access various yoga poses, for both beginners and advanced practitioners. The underlying goal in all her classes is to help you find a connection with your own energy to establish a deeper understanding of yourself.
Brooke teaches in English.
