I won’t let go of: Drawing outside the lines. Nothing is ever really rigid. Theories, rules, and systems always have undiscovered spaces around them.
I get inspired by: How I react to the world—the emotions, thoughts, shifts, and feelings that discovery and experiences bring.
Teaching style: I encourage students to move from where they are and how they feel. My classes are a space of freedom, trust, and a place to be yourself.
First touch with yoga: I first encountered yoga during my dance education. Initially, I saw it as a new movement technique, something to master and excel in. But as time passed, it became an endless peeling away of layers, a constant search, and a never-ending journey. Everything is always changing, and so are we. But the mat is always there—a place to explore the ever-shifting reality, the inner world, and the physical being.
A book that changed my life: The Untethered Soul. It marked the beginning of a new relationship with my heart, mind, and awareness.
Merete is a trained modern dancer with years of experience as a performer, teacher, and choreographer. Dance and movement has been her way of relating and connecting with the world. Alongside her dance career, she has practiced yoga for just as long. When she fully immersed herself in yoga and became a teacher, life opened up even more. Yoga continues to reveal its healing, gifts, and love, which she strives to share with others. As a yoga teacher, Merete creates spaces for students to explore and develop themselves, embracing both their own physical body and inner world.
Merete teaches in English.
