This postpartum yoga class is designed to support your recovery towards a lighter posture and a more energetic feeling. Becoming a parent isn’t always easy, with sleepless nights, breastfeeding marathons, and carrying your baby. At the same time, you are gradually recovering from childbirth. The goal of the postpartum class is to refresh and strengthen both internally and externally. You will rediscover core support, a lighter posture, and a sharper sense of well-being. The sessions include exercises that help you reconnect with your deep muscles and address diastasis recti, aiding in their restoration.
You are welcome to bring your baby to the class. The sessions are primarily designed for postpartum recovery, so your baby can participate in some of the movements if desired or simply sleep in the stroller throughout the class. You can breastfeed or change diapers during the class as needed. You are also free to join without your baby, allowing you to focus more on yourself, which is also perfectly acceptable! We recommend leaving the baby with care if they are very active, as it might affect your ability to concentrate on the class.
You are welcome to attend the class right after your postpartum check-up or even if some time has passed since your delivery. The asana sequences are gentle and therapeutic, aimed at providing you with more energy to better enjoy your time with your baby. You can attend even if you have had a cesarean section. The classes have a relaxed and accepting atmosphere where you can meet other parents in similar life situations. All are welcome, regardless of previous experience.
This class is held in Finnish and found weekly at Vallila & Munkkiniemi. Please note that at the Vallila location, you can bring strollers inside through the café area into the hallway. At the Munkkiniemi studio, strollers can also be brought inside.
